We have just spent the weekend out= and about at the Classic. With the waves crankin, they truly had a mind of their own.

The Surfing was at a high standard= and very entertaining to watch.

With schoolies, the crowd was cons= tant most of the time, music pumpin’ and some good commentary.<= /span>

As we where one of the sponsors we wanted the feedback from the contestants, on how the wax preformed.

The mainst= ream vibe was that everyone loved it, it applied easy on top of what ever most c= rew had on their boards.

Each conte= stant got a free block of wax in there bag and 90% of them applied it before their comp, which was great to see.

It was gre= at to sit back and watch the crew get out there and rip it.

Some of ou= r team riders entered in the Rusty/Sessions Surf Shop Pro Junior Event,=

With Matt Delroy-Carr getting knocked out in the Semi, but John Davies made it throug= h to the Final.

John scored consistently with Quality waves, but could not pip NSW Adam Melling who sur= fed with speed and agility.

Dino Adria= n had some great manoeuvres but failed to score the big deal, Vaughan Boffey also surfed with class.

The final = result being Adam Melling took the title with John Davies second (Well Done!!), Di= no Adrian Third and Vaughan Boffey Forth.

The Northern’s Plumbtec Over 40’s was as fiercely competitive as any other title in surfing.

Dave Macau= lay went out fully force to claim the title for the first time, after his numer= ous wins in the open event.

Mike McAul= iffe took out second, with rivals close behind, Matt Webb third and Mitch Thorson fourth.

The West GRRL/Sessions Surf Shop Open Women’s Division was contested by some g= reat local talent.

Local surf= er Kirsty Shaw, now living in Byron Bay, returned home = to claim first place, and a bag full of goodies.

Sarah Bear= dmore competed with great skill and placed second, Jessica Emory put on a great display to finish third and Melanie Lumsdaine completed the four with class, the women’s event was an excellent display of what great skill is out there.

Beach Life= Surf Shop, Locals only division had some of the hottest surfers, with the likes = of Dave Englert, Jake Jakovich, Keighley Bremner and Sam Castledon, these are = true locals. Dave’s powerful manoeuvres seen him take out the title, despi= te landing on dry reef and getting his leg rope stuck early in the session. Sam clocked up some great scores to finish third and Keighley also had a clash = with the reef but fort hard to get third.

Jake ripped in the semis but the ul= timate wave eluded him in the final placing him in forth. Great effort Guys.<= /o:p>

The first inaugural Acton Real Estate Over 45’s Division was won by Mal Cathine= ss and hot on his heals was Current Australian over 50’s champ Russell Catto= in second, Mark Goodlich finished third and Kim Delaney forth.

The Open Final was a high quality = event, with all prelim finals hard fort to get there. Josh Palmeteer surfed suprem= e in the finals and was a fav for first place. Brett Hardy dominated the quarterfinals scoring two perfect 10-point waves. Brett proved his unstoppa= ble force to take out the Division with Josh second, Drew Everest (Defending Ti= tle Holder) third after snapin his board early in the final and Adam Melling fo= rth (Junior Division Champ) was the only surfer to compete in two finals.<= /o:p>

The weekend was a great success all-round. See ya there next year!
